Youran Dairy is the world's largest supplier of raw milk, with 97 large-scale dairy farms covering China's golden milk belt. It has also established multiple farms in the central and southern provinces, which have large populations, strong economies, significant consumption potential, scarce land resources, and a long-term shortage of raw milk, raising a total of 622,000 cows. Through continuous advancement of lean management and technology empowering the entire industrial chain, Youran Dairy's newly established 10,000-head dairy farm in Wuwei, Gansu,
achieved a milk yield of over 49 kg per milkable cow in its second year of operation, setting a record for the highest milk yield per milkable cow in China. In 2024, Youran Dairy's annualized average milk yield per milkable cow (excluding Jerseys) reached 12.6 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 5%. The Annualized average milk yield per milkable cow of its subsidiary, SKX, reached 12.4 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.8%, placing it in the industry's 'first tier' in terms of milk yield. Youran Dairy's overall feed cost per kilogram of raw milk decreased by 14.3% year-on-year. Youran Dairy boasts a leading and diverse portfolio of specialty raw milk products in China, having developed organic milk, Jersey milk, organic Jersey milk, DHA milk, A2 milk, organic A2 milk, selenium-enriched milk, and goat milk, bringing the total number of specialty raw milk categories to eight.
Youran Dairy is China's largest supplier of ruminant feed, with 15 feed mills nationwide and nearly 40 years of experience in ruminant feed research, development, and production. The company has pioneered a 'product + service + platform' business model and entered a strategic partnership with renowned global dairy expert Dr. Mike Hutchins, combining the most advanced U.S. dairy nutrition technology to create world-class feed products. In a strategic collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) on 'Dairy Cow Nutrient Requirements,' the company has introduced internationally advanced dairy farming technologies. Youran Dairy has established a leading domestic dairy nutrition system, collecting barn environment and herd production data through a big data monitoring system to calculate nutrient requirements. Utilizing a self-developed near-infrared nutrition database for major raw materials in Chinese dairy farming, the company evaluates the
nutritional value and cost-effectiveness of raw materials. It provides precise nutrition to dairy cows using nutritional formula systems and precision feeding equipment. In 2024, Youran Dairy pioneered the development of China's first ruminant carbon-reducing and yield-increasing feed, a new mutton sheep feed with a taste close to pasture-raised sheep after feeding, and a multi-stage fermented feed for beef cattle and mutton sheep with a composite microbial strain. This expanded the feed brand to a comprehensive series of twelve major brands, covering dairy cows, beef cattle, mutton sheep, dairy goats, camels, and yaks throughout their life cycles. In 2024, the sales volume of concentrated feed such as beef cattle and sheep increased by 44.5% year-on-year.
SKX, a subsidiary of Youran Dairy, is China's largest dairy cow breeding enterprise, with the largest capacity for sexed-sorted frozen semen production in Asia. It is also the first domestic breeding company to engage in large-scale production and commercial application of high-yield dairy cow sexed-sorted embryos. The company has mastered six core technologies in dairy
cow breeding: internationally leading sex-sorted technology, sex-sorted embryo production and transfer technology, genomic selection breeding technology, gene editing breeding technology, cloning technology, and stem cell bio breeding technology. There are five core dairy cow breeding bases in Hohhot and Wisconsin, USA, as well as one core breeding base each for beef cattle and dairy goats in Hohhot. In 2024, the breeding business produced over 25,000 sex-sorted dairy cow embryos, representing a 75.7% increase year-on-year. For the first time in the world, a new type of bovine functional extended embryonic stem cell was successfully developed. Broke the long-term foreign monopoly on genomic testing technology for 'high-yield, long-life, and disease-resistant' dairy cows, successfully developed the 'Breeding No. 1 Chip,' accurately and efficiently identifying and selecting cows with higher production potential, longer production lifespan, and stronger disease resistance, accelerating the improvement of herd genetic quality. In April 2025, according to the latest genetic evaluation results of 'domestic registered' breeding bulls in the U.S. published by the NAAB (National Association of Animal Breeders), Youran Dairy's SKX-bred breeding bulls secured 4 out of the top 10 spots, 8 out of the top 20, and 49 out of the top 100. The first-ranked breeding bull 291HO24128 from SKX achieved a historic TPI (Total
Performance Index) of 3373, setting a new record for SKX's 'domestic registered' breeding bulls. This round of breeding produced 5 breeding bulls with a TPI over 3300 and 140 with a TPI over 3100, injecting continuous 'breeding' momentum into China's dairy cow industry.
Youran Dairy is China's largest supplier of alfalfa hay , with its core high-quality alfalfa planting base in the 'Grass Capital of China,' Ar Horqin Banner, and a nationwide layout of 16 forage grass plantation bases covering 240,000 mu of forage grass.
